Broadford and its immediate neighbours (Ashaig, Breakish, Skulamus, Waterloo, Harrapool, and Corry) situated along the southern edge of the Inner Sound, form the largest settlement in South Skye.
A bank, medical centre, post office, petrol station, car hire, tourist information office are available, plus a number of other shops.

The road from Kyleakin travels along the far shore and the hills are on the Eastern most part of the Island, guarding Kylerhea.

This pier is still used commercially for fishing and other purposes, a small motor boat, the Family's Pride II also operates trips from here.
