The Small Isles are a group of Islands 8 to 10 miles south of Skye. They consist of Rùm Eigg, Canna & Muck, all of which are visible from many parts of Strathaird and Sleat, weather permitting. A ferry from Armadale in Sleat, serves the islands and, since the route is circular, day trips are possible. Additionally some boats offer private charter trips to and around the islands by arrangement.

Rùm seen across the Cuillin Sound from Elgol on a June day. The photo was taken near the start of the path to Camasunary and Loch Coruisk.
Currents can be seen making patterns on the surface of the sea.
The Bella Jane, operating from Elgol jetty, runs occasional day trips to Rùm.
